Uniform Expenses

We understand that cheerleading can be expensive, especially in the first year. All items that you purchase are for you to keep, therefore most items should only need to be purchased once during an athlete’s tenure in the Lansing Catholic Cheer Program. We will do our best to provide fundraisers and financial assistance as often as possible. We never want the expense to be a reason your daughter doesn't cheer, so if you have difficulty making payments – please speak with your daughter’s cheer coach and arrangements/scholarships can be made on an individual basis.

SHOES

  • Shoes from the previous competitive season/football season can be worn for the 2011 sideline season provided they are in clean/safe condition. If you need to replace your shoes for the sideline season – you can purchase these on your own.  Shoes must be ALL WHITE!  All athletes must have the appropriate shoes before going to camp.   If you are having trouble ordering or purchasing shoes, please contact your coach.

BODYSUIT/BRIEFS

  • All athletes must have a bodysuit and a pair of black boycut briefs for the 2011 sideline season. These can be the same bodysuit/briefs worn from a previous season – provided they are in good condition and have been approved by a coach. New bodysuits and briefs can be purchased at Bottom’s Up in Okemos on Hamilton Road (517-349-0158). If you mention that you are a Lansing Catholic cheerleader – they will give you a 10% discount. All athletes must have a bodysuit and brief before fall team pictures in August.

UNIFORMS

  • Uniforms are school property. A skirt and shell will be issued to each cheerleader in August. Uniforms must be kept in clean and good condition. If at any time, a uniform is lost or damaged – the cost of replacement will be the responsibility of the athlete. Uniforms can be altered provided that the material IS NOT cut and the alterations are removed at the end of the season. Please be sure to take good care of the cheerleading uniform while it is in your care as it will cost approximately $200 to replace.
WARM-UP & TEAM BAG
  • Each cheerleader must have the Lansing Catholic cheerleading warm-up (jacket and pants) to be worn at football games.  The team bag is an optional item but is highly suggested for uniform team appearance.  Both items can be ordered and purchased at Athlete's Connection in Lansing (on MLK Blvd).  Total cost for both items is approximately $135.  These items are for the athlete to keep and will be used all 4 years in high school.
POMS
  • Each cheerleader will be required to have a pair of black & white poms.  These are ordered through the school and the cost is $25.  A date will be set in the summer for collection of the $25.  These poms will be for the athlete to keep and will be used for all 4 years in high school.

Summer Cheerleading Camp Expenses

All athletes are expected to attend camp.  Financial assistance will be given if there is a need.  Please contact your daughters coach to make arrangements.  If you have a conflict with any of the dates listed below - please contact your coach so that we can make accommodations if possible.

SUMMER CAMP

  • The JV & Varsity cheer teams will be attending 2 camps in the summer of 2011.
    • Camp 1 - Cheer! Michigan Team Camp (Northwood University, Midland, Michigan) - July 26-28 - Cost $260.00

CAMP/PRACTICE CLOTHES
  • The JV & Varsity cheerleaders will be designing and purchasing 3 matching practice outfits which will also be worn to camp.  This will consist of 3 shorts and 3 tanks/t-shirts.  Approximate cost will be $75.  All items will be for the athlete to keep and will be worn at practices each day.

Gymnastics Training

SUMMER GYMNASTICS

  • All cheerleaders are expected to enroll in a gymnastics class at one of our local gymnastics facilities for the summer months.  Training should begin in May and conclude at the end of July for summer gymnastics.  Additional classes can be taken throughout the season on top of the regular practice/gymnastics schedule.  Enhanced gymnastics skills will only benefit your daughter and our teams!  We encourage every athlete to really work hard in this area.
FALL GYMNASTICS
  • An organized gymnastics class will be set up for all sideline athletes and will either take place at the high school during regular practice time or at an outside facility during regular practice time.  Details are still being arranged.  The anticipated cost will be around $80 for the season (August-October).
